Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is a department of the Madison Township government, authorized by the Township Trustees to provide emergency medical services to all township residents and visitors. Volunteer and compensated part-time EMTs provide life support on a 24 hour basis, operating from the Fire/EMS station, located in the Village of South Charleston, OH. EMS provides primary patient care, stabilization, and transport to a local area hospital. Most calls are received from the Clark County Sheriff's Dispatch Center through an Enhanced 911 system. Currently, MTEMS has 12 part-time personnel and several volunteer members, that are certified as Paramedics, EMT-Is or EMT-Bs.
The department is active in the local community and provides local educational opportunities. Medical services are provided for Southeastern Local School District athletic events, visitors to the Clark County Fair and other community events.
